WISE Volunteer Coordinator — FILLED
The PTO WISE Committee is looking for a new team member! We are in need of a Volunteer Coordinator to take over beginning in the Fall 2018 and the role can be filled by either 1 person or the duties can be split between 2 people. This position is essential to the day-to-day running of the WISE program during each session and WISE cannot run without it. Responsibilities include:
1. Recruit volunteers for attendance and dismissal and be the point of contact for the volunteers throughout the session.
2. Maintain stock of WISE snacks. Historically, snacks have been purchased and delivered by Costco. The Coordinator is reimbursed for the cost of the snacks.
3. Communicate with parents and the WISE committee regarding student discipline concerns.
4. Update the WISE binder once per session. This may include providing a list of WISE enrollees to teachers, preparing attendance lists, etc.
5. Monitor WISE e-mail for attendance and dismissal related concerns.

Not ready to take on a leadership roll? We are planning to grow our PTO next year by forming many committees to support our many leadership and chair positions. Being on a committee is a great way to meet new people and get your feet wet with the PTO! If you are interested in getting involved, contact us and we can talk to you about the different committees and help you decide where you would like to get started.

All Whittier students will read the same wonderful, surprise book in just a few weeks! Please consider making a donation to this great program! The cost of each book is $5. Your donation helps ensure that every student receives a book.

Weds October 5th is the Whittier Wildcat Fun Run this year! Held during school, it is one of the biggest PTO fundraisers of the year. We need some volunteers to make this day a success. Biggest need is for volunteers to help setup the race course in the morning before school. It is a really fun day that the kids enjoy a lot.

The Whittier Birthday Books program is up and running for 2016-2017! Please see the Birthday Book Letter to have your student participate. If you are interested in helping with the program, we meet informally twice a month to help children choose their books, record them, and take pictures. Email me at email@example.com to lend a hand! It’s a great way to spend a little time in the school and meet some of the students.
